1) When I open the program, why does it ask for Username and Password?

Use of this program is restricted to authorized persons with an access key (username and password).  For first time use, the User Name is ADMIN and the Password is also ADMIN. You can continue to use the above username and password, but you are advised to change them for security.  Each user can be assigned his/her own secret access key (username, password). For more details please refer to the User Manual.

2) What is RRA and what does it do?

RRA - Reading Room Assistant - is an easy to use software program specifically designed to efficiently manage the operations of Christian Science Reading Rooms.  You can record Sales of any item from the Christian Science Publishing Society’s catalog, manage inventory by recording transactions related to stock acquired or sold, and maintain accurate Stock on Hand count. It can record items moved to the Lending Library of the Church, as well as sales of Miscellaneous items (basket sales) such as used books or magazines released from the lending library. It can also handle special Discounts given, Donations received at the Reading Room, as well as sales or inventory Returns. If you collect sales tax, the program also calculates and records the sales tax, and offers easy reports to determine the amount payable to your local government for any given period.

3) How will RRA help us better manage our Reading Room?

This software relieves the RR Librarian from many of the time-consuming, error-prone manual tasks.  Reconciling sales, cash on hand, and bank deposits becomes easy.  Keeping track of sales revenue and purchase expenses is easy and accurate. You can get a firm grip on inventory - which items you have, which ones are selling, what to re-order, what is the stock on hand at any given time, the value of stock on hand etc.

From a management perspective: this program offers a powerful tool to better utilize the resources of the Church in running the Reading Room, to contain costs, and to get accurate, relevant, and timely information about costs, revenues, sales, stock on hand etc. Using this information, the Church can take steps to ensure that the Reading Room becomes an asset for the Church, promotes a revenue stream, and most importantly, as a result, can offer the teachings of Mary Baker Eddy to a wider group of people.

4) How does this software help me control inventory, costs etc?

You can get, easily and quickly, the accurate, current status of your stock on hand, its value, the total purchase expense and total sales revenue for any given period. Also, you can get reports detailing what was sold, the quantity and dollar figures.  You can determine what you have, what is being sold, what is sitting idle on the shelves, and how best to decide what to order from the Publishing Society.  This software eliminates much of the manual effort involved in stock verification, inventory control and efficient re-ordering, easily and accurately.

5) Can I update the product list and prices?

Yes, you can regularly edit or delete existing items, as well as add new ones, to keep the product catalog current.  We recommend updating the product catalog each time the Publishing Society sends you an updated catalog or informs you of individual new items being introduced.

6) How long is the free evaluation period to use RRA?

The evaluation copy of RRA is a fully functional program available for a 60-day trial period from the date of installation.  To continue using it after the trial period, you will need to obtain a registration key by contacting Data-Flo - info@data-flo.net 

7) Will our librarians need training?  Can I get a User Manual?

The software is easy to use and does not require special training.  It does not require any advanced technical knowledge of computers or software.  If you are familiar with basic Windows operating system, and know how to use the mouse and keyboard, you can use RRA.  In addition, the Administrator of the program can train others as needed. The User Manual enables you to learn all aspects of this program.

8) How do I download and install RRA?
8.1)

From our website: www.data-flo.net/csrr.htm  Click on 'Download Reading Room Assistant' and save the file (RRASetup.zip) to your hard disk when prompted.

Unzip the downloaded file using WinZip.  If you don’t have WinZip:

To Install the program on your system, Click on “setup.exe” present in the unzipped files.  At the conclusion of the install process, an icon for Reading Room Assistant will be automatically placed on your desktop (main screen of your computer).

First Time Use:

User Name: ADMIN 

Password: ADMIN

Later, please change the password for security.

9) How much does the Reading Room Assistant cost?

10) Does this software work with Mac?
No, it is not designed for Mac computers.  RRA works with Windows (Win 95, 98, NT, ME, 2000, XP).
11) How do I purchase RRA?  How do I obtain the registration key?
